还有就是做presentation的技巧。同样的东西,有的人做出来简洁,to the point,人家一看就明白,还特别有趣好看,有的人做出来就乱七八糟,看得人头疼。--看marketing部门的年度报告有感。比会计部的好看得不是一点点。

Do you know they have a tight budget? A good candidate might not be willing to move. Even a good candidate is willing to take the job with limited budget, the director might not like this candidate.It's differicult to work under a this kind of boss. Quicksliman is under tight deadline to finish work but with a tight budget to hire a SFA while the director is so picky.

明知故问。一般来说国人职场中比较低调,会做人,再怎样都不会当面当众shout at director。国人一般工作能力比较强,工作上手快,尤其那些excel, access之类。还有一点是国人要求工资一般不高。总之找国人你现在10有89已经在原单位更上一层楼,而不会走人了。

看样子我的理解没错,你的头不够成熟。不是没有完美的员工,关键是预算有限,就得容忍员工的不完美。四大的人做事认真,智商也不差,就是容易陷入micromanagement的模式.见过四大出来能作宏观管理的人,但是不多。职业要求不能出错形成习惯。我明知道CA出来工作机会多,但还是不敢把孩子往这条路上推。

其实就是个fit的感觉,尤其是在几个candidates都有回答问题的技巧情况下。还有就是诚恳度和对工作的兴趣,这些在交谈中都会流露出来。

你也不容易。觉得你们俩都没有错, 我赞同你不应该hung up on designation, 但她的一些顾虑也不是没道理,比如R回来了会不会再走。总觉得她是想拉个自己的人从头来,而你更看重这个人的业务能力,希望TA能尽快上手分担工作量。但Director太拘于小节有过于挑剔,这确实难办。但我觉得你大可不必为vacation的事伤脑筋。 不让用就让HR payout, 再不行忙季过了休病假。如果你重视这份工作,这都不是什么大不了的事情。

They are good at managing co-op students which requires hand on hand coaching. If someone stayed at the big 4 for over 10 years, it's hard to remove their professional habit of micromanagement. It's better if they got CA and leave big 4.

Big four not only provide auditing but many other professional service. Co-op student usually only help out with easy tasks such as tie in, photocopy, order meal....some superstar yes, sure will work on real file.but those superstar, kids only 20,21 will become a director before 30. need EQ to manager high IQ people or you end up doing everything yourself.

Thank you for your information. I understand there is also tax and consulting services. Jim the CO-CEO of RIM is a CA who is also an MBA from Harvard. The EVP from my workplace is also a CA. Those are good examples.There are also a lot more examples that shows differently and can cause a lot of pain at the workplace.

楼主强人啊!不过,建议下,整天考虑为公司 do thing right 之前,先想想是否在为自己和家庭 do right thing。拿健康作赌注,为公司和老板如此拼命,是 do right thing 吗?每次为了把事情做好,违背上司的旨意,无论如何都是一个"死"。做不好,自然是死;做好了,上司找别的借口,最后还是"死"。
看你申请的位置是更高还是平级了。更高就好说了。同级别的JD也肯定有不同。可以说对不同的内容感兴趣,而原来的职位无法接触。或是说,你觉的你的背景&经验&学习比现在更适合这位置。切不可抱怨原来的位置。

这就要看你当时被terminate的原因了。是公司restructure or performance issue.当时有没有同直接manager通过信息说将来的reference问题?如果是performance 原因,而你又认可这结果,你最好告诉人家你在哪方面不行或搞砸了什么事。然后说lesson learnEd。然后告诉solution:我要在那方面学习或上了什么course或是consult了某mentor应该怎样。以后保证不会犯同样的错误。如果你确信能拿到direct manager的postive reference 的情况下,你可以说是fitting issue,最后双方协商后你走了。这样的回答很冒险,不确定不建议。

帮助扫一下盲吧:你觉得"not a good fit"是还算positive的reference吗?对你的未来公司做决定一点没有影响吗.可能我不一定想得对,我原来觉得一个职位认为你不合适,你是有过失的,至少说明你不胜任。除非是那个公司当时雇你的时候所给你的JD和后来你所干的事情不是一回事或者不完全吻合,你才是完全无辜的一方. 大家都可以拍砖哈.
